Establishment of Migal Laboratories to research the use of Hula Valley peat to produce energy. (The research ended after a year.)

| 1979 - |
First recruitment of scientists with the cooperation of Tel Hai Regional College, for research and teaching at the Haifa University extension, and for the first year of studies of the Faculty of Agriculture (Hebrew University) at the regional college.

| 1980 - |
Inclusion of the Northern Research and Development Unit− An agricultural research project for the north initiated by the Ministry of Agriculture and the Jewish Agency (and later, the Jewish National Fund), to be operated by Migal.

|
Research conducted for the industries which process agricultural produce of the Upper Galilee.
|
|
|
Establishment of service laboratories in chemistry and microbiology.
|

| 1982 - |
Recognition by the Chief Scientist of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor as an institute for applied research to conduct R&D for industry.

| 1985 - |
Beginning of research development in biotechnology as a main research area of Migal.
|
| 1988 - |
Recognition by the Ministry of Science as a regional R&D institute and later, as a mega-R&D center.

| 1992 - |
Establishment of the School of Sciences and Technology at Tel Hai Academic College based on researchers from Migal.

| 1996 - |
The Council for Higher Education authorized the opening of a Department of Biotechnology and Environmental Sciences at Tel Hai Academic College. This accreditation allowed recruitment of additional scientists, and advancement in their academic rating.

| 2003 - |
The Council for Higher Education authorized the opening of a Nutrition Sciences Department at the Tel Hai Academic College.
|
| 2006 - |
Establishment of Environmental Sciences Department at the Tel Hai Academic College.
|
| 2007 - |
The Council for Higher Education authorizes the opening of the Food Sciences Department.
|
| 2008 - | The Council for Higher Education authorized granting Master's Degree in Research Biotechnology at the Tel Hai Academic College, based on Migal's commitment to provide scientific and research support. |
